I think mettle of man is a great perk if your going as a team player. You can take hits for someone about to break out, and hopefully save them while getting a charge. I used to run MoM, unbreakable, flip flop, and boil over so I’ll just take all 2 hits while killer has someone, get downed, recover enough so when they pick me up, I usually break out and get a save

Light-Footed enjoyer here. You're not *completely* wrong. If the killer can see you it's not gonna do much. But it really shines when the killer doesn't see you. Let me tell you, I've chased killers through the entire map right behind them. It gives you a free flashband/flashlight save because the killer just doesn't know you're right there.
As for loops, depending on how loud your survivor is, you can double back and completely lose the killer. Sound plays a huger role than people realize. But still, I'd say it works best for flashbang/light saves.

I love that empathetic connection isn't considered weak because it just doesn't have very strong numbers, but is instead considered weak because it "helps other people out instead of yourself." Like, is that not still a good thing? You're basically giving everyone a bit of aura reading to know where you are while they're injured plus you have a slightly faster healing speed on top of it.

Haddie deserves to be further up that list. Residual Manifest also applies to flashbangs and Blast Mine, making it incredibly diverse in its applications. That perk hides generator auras (most notably), making it harder to patrol, and can also cancel aura reading perks temporarily, like BBQ. If you manage to get a blind before getting downed, it also hides hook auras (I have gotten off a Killer's shoulders several times doing this). While I don't use it, Inner Focus could be helpful for setting up for saves. I main her so I'm gonna be insulted, and I'm not saying her perks are the best, but she at least deserves to be higher on this list than fucking Yoichi.

Agreed. For the one downside of needing to be with the obsession, it boasts the extra speed, extra range, aura reading, and most importantly, which Kyto did not mention, the requirement of not losing a health state. Power of two deactivates if either survivor takes a hit, whereas with blood pact your teammate could literally be on hook and your still running the killer nearby with the 7%. I also just think power of 2, and teamwork perks in general aren't nearly worth it most of the time. At least by themselves

I had been hit with Residual Manifest before as Killer and while Blindess might not sound so good, on Lery's it is pretty brutal. That and as someone who uses aura reads (I tend to main Artist (Birb emoji. I'm on PC :P) and Xeno, and having those perks shut down it's pretty brutal.
I am an avid user of alert as Survivor, and I never go without it and Distortion. Being able to tell if I can heal someone safely came in clutch countless times for me, as well as knowing when to split from a gen or heal. Even gives me info on who it is too if I solo queue based on the aura silhouette. Basically my main 3 perks go alert, Distortion and Lithe. Figuring out what my fourth will be. I also pair it with background, bond, flashbang for flash saves. I also ap often use it to flank a killer after a hook to go in for a save. It works 70% of the time.

You see each others auras when at least one of you is injured, and most importantly YOU DONT LOSE BP IF YOU LOSE A HEALTH STATE. Unlike Po2. If you're trying to loop with friends you are eventually bound to get hit. Making Po2 useless imo

I've been using flashbangs as my main kit for a while now - not only do Killers not change to lightborn as their perks, they also dont expect to be blinded if no one bring a flashlight. You can use it to save people from being picked up but how I like to use it is mid chase, if you go around a corner and throw the flashbang the killer might not hear and just walk straight into being blinded. Pair that with Hindered and you escape the chase. I do this with other survivors who are being chased to help them escape too. The only real counter is lightborn (which lets be real that has to be nerfed, completly countering one of the survivors abilities makes flashlights redundant)

As a killer I have had many times where the survivor with ds gets fully healed up and runs away, and then I find them by pure happenstance, I chase and I down them, then I get hit by a ds because I picked them up at like 50s or smth, I think that ds should be that, after being unhooked it activated for 20s, if within that time you enter a chase, ds gets "primed" and it lasts indefinitely until that chase ends or the survivor is picked up.

    4. Heal yourself and purposely get chased again.

If you want to buff decisive strike and make it 5 seconds and not deactivate when you are progressing the game then killers should get rewarded for not tunneling. with grim embrace base kit. Deadlock base kit (When you hook someone else than the person before, the gen with the most progress gets blocked for 30 seconds and the survivor working on that gen reveals their aura for 4 seconds. I know this sounds unfair from the other side but if you're planning to buff a anti Tunneling perk and make it so it doesnt deactivate when you're doing gens. Then killers need this buff too.

The distortion complaints baffle me. I understand some people take it to an extreme and just hide in the corner of the map all game. But the whole "stealth is boring" argument is strange. It's a game of life or death, literally. I hide, or I die. I shouldnt /want/ to be chased by the big scary killer with a power designed to /not let me run from them./ DBD is supposed to be a hide and seek(hide or die) style of game. Not a glorified version of subway surfers. I find it infinitely more fun hiding being sneaky from killers and watching them panic. Whats so fun about holding shift+w around a piece of wood knowing that you literally will not lose. Running to a god pallet and pre-dropping it. Wow, exhilarating.

I disagree on Haddie Kaur and Ellen Ripley(so far this is where I’ve made it into the video).
Firstly to see if a perk could be useful is by looking at every way these perks can and have been used. Residual Manifest for example completely counters any killer that is relying on aura reading. Overzealous is a tournament perk that when paired with a toolbox, Deja Vu, Prove Thyself, Resilience, etc. is really dirty. Chemical Trap is by far one of the best perks in my opinion because it doesn’t buy you “just a little extra distance”, it completely counters the zoning playstyle and killers that rely on it like Clown or Slinger or Huntress. Now you could say they can just not break it and bloodlust you which is true, however, all this does is ensure that you’ll have at least a 45 second chase if they wait till tier 3 which wastes a lot of time. 45 seconds is HALF a generator if it’s just one person, sure it doesn’t sound like a lot but competent survivors can abuse this to their heart’s content as it essentially acts as a double edge sword for the killer. “Do I break this pallet and potentially give them a chance to get somewhere else or do I waste my time bloodlusting this pallet?” Now alternatively they could just leave but then all the pressure they had on you is gone and when paired with Any Means Necessary you can just pick it right back up and do it all again. This isn’t even taking into account pallets that are forced to be broken which could save your life when on death hook, making god pallets look like a free chase escape against a tunneling killer.
Edit: While I agree Head On can be situational, me and my duo had ran that perk exclusively for 2 years, never taking it off until we decided to take the game more seriously. So I’d say we’ve utilized this perk to its full abilities(albeit inadvertently), using Head On with a duo genuinely is a life saver. If there are no pallets around, your teammate can hop into a locker and literally save your life. Hell, I’ve had games where the killer sees that we have Head On, recognize our names, and just disconnect because we’ve abused this perk so much.

It doesn't really apply to SWF much, but I don't really get why Lucky Star gets such a bad rep for an info perk when you're solo queueing.
Popping in and out of a locker quickly will tell you where EVERY survivor is, but it has no meter radius (where bond has a smaller radius) and will tell you where they are regardless of health state.
Getting in and out of a locker may take a few seconds but it seems to have the best of both bond and empathy, and the cooldown of it is usually done by the time you get to the survivor/next objective.
Not to mention the silence/bloodstain suppression and Gen info you get as well.
Is there a particular reason why it's seen as such a bad perk?

  • @NightWolf-yq2be

Yeah, anytime I see anyone jump into a locker when I’m playing the killer, I always assume they’re running “head-on” so I always just sit there for a few seconds, move an inch suddenly, and they always fall for it
